Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. At the age five she moved from London to Oxfordshire to attend the Dragon School. Emma was only six when she realized she wanted to be an actor. She studied for a number of years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. When she was 10, she had already taken part in numerous Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was first cast in 1999. Emma was discovered by agents through the recommendation of her Oxford teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been selected for the roles. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first appearance on the big screen took place in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. The most successful film of 2001, the film set records in its first day revenue as well as its opening weekend earnings. It was highly acclaimed by reviewers, and so were the performance of three stars. The Daily Telegraph, an important British publication, described Emma's acting "amazing". In the following days, Emma was nominated for five awards for her role in the film winning her the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress of a Younger in an feature Film.
